{"id":30,"date":"2014-04-29T11:28:59","date_gmt":"2014-04-29T11:28:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.grabthisrecipe.com\/index.php\/2014\/04\/29\/slow-cooker-chuck-roast-barbecue\/"},"modified":"2017-10-31T23:48:07","modified_gmt":"2017-10-31T23:48:07","slug":"slow-cooker-chuck-roast-barbecue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grabthisrecipe.com\/index.php\/slow-cooker-chuck-roast-barbecue\/","title":{"rendered":"Slow Cooker Chuck Roast Barbecue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 lbs chuck roast<\/p>\n<p>3\/4 cup cola drink<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 cup Worcestershire sauce<\/p>\n<p>1 tablespoon cider vinegar<\/p>\n<p>2 garlic cloves, minced<\/p>\n<p>2 large onions, chopped<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup barbecue sauce ( your choice)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chop onions and place in bottom of 4 quart slow cooker.<\/p>\n<p>Trim all visible fat off of roast, cut in half to ensure even cooking, and place on top of onions.<\/p>\n<p>Mix cola, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and minced garlic.<\/p>\n<p>Reserve 1\/2 cup for use later, and pour the rest over the meat.<\/p>\n<p>Cover and cook on high for 6 hours or on low for 10 hours.<\/p>\n<p>When meat is done cooking and is very tender, remove meat and onions from the slow cooker with a slotted spoon.<\/p>\n<p>Discard cooking liquid in slow cooker.<\/p>\n<p>Add reserved sauce mixture and 1\/2 cup bottled barbecue sauce to slow cooker and cook uncovered on high for 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, shred roast with two forks.<\/p>\n<p>When sauce is finished, return shredded beef and onions to slow cooker, stir well, cover, and cook until heated through&#8211;about 10 minutes on high.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves 6<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients 2 lbs chuck roast 3\/4 cup cola drink 1\/4 cup Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon cider vinegar 2 garlic cloves, minced 2 large onions, chopped 1\/2 cup barbecue sauce ( your choice) Directions Chop onions and place in bottom of 4 quart slow cooker.
