Apple Nut Cake

Ingredients:

1/2 cup softened butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup and 2 tablespoons of flour

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 medium apples, cored and peeled

Directions:

Cream sugar and butter in bowl.  Beat in egg and vanilla.  Combine all dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.  Add apples and nuts and transfer to greased 8 x 8 square baking pan.  Batter is rather thick.  Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes.  Cool and serve with ice cream or cool whip.
